Advanced Plastic Processing
To ensure the highest level of quality, each injection mold is validated during the pre-production phase of a project (IQ, QQ, PQ). Our degreed process engineers optimize the molding process to determine nominal injection pressure, fill time, hold pressure, and cycle time, among other variables.
All our molding machines are eDART equipped to provide enhanced quality control and repeatability. In fact, due to our extensive use of this cavity pressure technology, Plastikos was featured as the inaugural RJG Smart Award. This evaluation process closely examines molders who are constantly seeking to improve the product quality, efficiency, & repeatability through the operation.
Lastly, we have a close relationship with Penn State Erie, which is the nation’s leading Plastic Engineering program. Nearly 10% of our workforce has a degree from this program and we are continuously providing summer internships to future graduates.
Industry 4.0 Focus
Industry 4.0 strategies have been implemented plant-wide to provide enhanced data sharing and traceability among molding machinery. This cloud-based system ensures only our process engineers can adjust process parameters, which minimizes manual error during production startup.
24/7 DEPENDABILITY
Plastikos & Plastikos medical operate around the clock to further minimize downtime / risk to our customer’s supply chain. Due to the extensive engineering & automation techniques, many of our high-volume molding machines can run completely light’s-out at night & weekends. All departments (QC, tool maintenance, material handling, etc.) are staffed to support this 24/7 schedule.
Inhouse Mold Maintenance
Our In-house Mold Maintenance Department is staffed with experienced toolmakers—ensuring the longevity of our customers’ injection molds and minimizing downtime due to repair and maintenance issues.
We have developed our own proprietary mold maintenance program ranging from Level I – Level IV PM’s, which is proactively scheduled based on the tool’s age & cycle count. Also, our spare tooling is cataloged in our ERP system to notify us when we need to reorder certain spare cavity / core details.
