Community Involvement

Today, the exchange of ideas and the ability to partner with other industry professionals is vital to any community. Micro Mold and Plastikos have developed strong ties with other tool making and molding companies within the greater Northwest Pennsylvania region through the Plastics Industry Partnership. This organization enables local plastic manufacturers to collaborate on current trends, technologies, and processes in order to better serve the plastics industry as a whole. Moreover, our General Manager has served as a guest panelist at multiple meetings and conferences in which the Plastics Industry Partnership has participated.

We also play an active role in shaping the future of the plastics industry through practical internships offered to Plastics Engineering Technology students at Penn State-Erie. Furthermore, we are active members of Penn State’s Plastics Alumni Advisory Board where our Manufacturing Manager provides real-world knowledge to up-and-coming engineers. In addition to these strong ties with Penn State, Plastikos also engages in cutting-edge research and development partnerships with faculty and students. Our hands-on involvement with Penn State has resulted in many industry advancements, which in turn have benefited our customers.

Additionally, Micro Mold and Plastikos realize our responsibility to our local community. We have been a corporate sponsor for local non-profit events and athletic teams. Additionally, we donate countless hours of our personal time every year with many local community organizations as Board members and volunteers. For instance, team members from Plastikos volunteer to teach Junior Achievement lessons in order to promote financial education to local elementary students. The JA's mission is to encourage fun, interactive ways for students from K-12 to gain early exposure to business and personal finance.

Finally, Micro Mold & Plastikos are a proud sponsor of local charities and events. For example, the Dave Cooney Parkinson Awareness walk is an annual event that is held by the Parkinson Foundation of Western Pennsylvania. Its mission is to raise money in an effort to further research and find a cure for this disease. Team members from Plastikos participated in as well as sponsored this important event. Thanks you and congratulations to everyone who joined us!
